Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne was created back then in 1893 by Jacques Tschumi.The classes were given at the Hôtel d'Angleterre on the shores of Lake Geneva. The school was created to meet the demand for qualified personnel for luxury hotels.By 1904 school developed and moved into its own building on the Avenue de Cour in Lausanne.Since then Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne has become a pioneer in terms of managerial training for careers in hospitality.
