The Rock Hotel was started back then in 1932 by John Chrichton-Stuart, the Marquis of Bute and it is owned by The Bland Group since 1959.The Rock Hotel is known by its magnification of royalty and richness same as the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.The famous faces like Sir Winston Churchill, Errol Flynn, Alec Guinness and Sean Connery, John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed at the hotel and exchanged their wedding vows in one of its private rooms.The hotel has been the part of Gibraltar since its establishment.Recently the hotel as been chosen as the venue for BBC's"New Tricks" and the whole cast & crew members stayed at the hotel whose picture has been immortalized at the" Hall of Fame" gallery.
