IMI University Centre Switzerland was established on 30th july of 1991.It was founded by Mr. Heinz Bürki, Mr. Tom Maher, and Mr. Rudolf Fischer along with10 staff members.The education provided at undergraduate level of IMI University Centre is validated by Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK as well as a prestigious MBA in International Hospitality Management.IMI Luzern MBA prepares the student to meet the demanding service sector of the world.Students get informed about operation of the worlds and improve their personal skill.
All programmes are in English but students are facilitated to learn from other language also.The languages the students can choose from are French and German.To increase the effectiveness students are kept minimum of 220 per semester because the institute believe in quality rather than quantity.

Undergraduate Programmes



Certificate in International Hotel & Tourism Management
This is a 22 week foundation programme prepared for the students who appeared high school certificate like GCSE O/A .The program focuses to develop the foundation base of the students about Hotel,Tourism,Events and Culinary Arts.On completion of this foundation programme, students will be ready to progress to their BA (Hons) degree course. This programme also includes opportunities for students to strengthen their English language skills.Students should reach the age of 17 to be qualified to be the member of IMI undergraduate course.If students desire to refresh their language skills through one of four week,intensive Pre-Sessional English Courses.



Undergraduate Programmes in Hospitality, Tourism & Events Management


Diploma in International Hotel & Tourism Management

Diploma of International Hotel & Tourism Management is 22 week programme that is designed for the qualified and experienced students who have knowledge on operational aspects of hospitality and tourism management.The objective of the programme is to develop students' professional understanding of how hospitality and tourism organisations integrate business functions and focuses on specific departmental responsibilities (housekeeping and facilities management) as well as cross-functional management skills (accounting, financial management, marketing and sales, and the uses of e-commerce).The requirement for this programmes include:

  • 18 years of age
  • High school certificate/I.B./A Levels or equivalent
  • IMI Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Proficiency in English: 5.0 IELTS or equivalent

Higher Diploma - five pathways



If you wish to get a measure of specialisation in Hospitality,Tourism and Event management or in combination of two fields of study,then this is the right programme.The courses are designed for the students who have an interest to rapidly achieve junior management positions and who already have relevant qualifications and/or experience.The requirements include:
  • IMI Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Proficiency in English: 5.5 IELTS or equivalent


Bachelor of Arts with Honours - five pathways



Each of these 22 week programmes allow a measure of specialisation in hospitality, tourism or event management or in some cases a combination of two fields of study. The courses are designed for those who have prior qualifications to Higher Diploma level and who intend to make their management careers in the industry and wish to be best placed to achieve rapid promotion.This program prepares the students to meet the demands of senior management in the tourism, hospitality and corporate event industries. Students receive individualised attention and the curriculum focuses on the strategic business development of hospitality and tourism organisations.The requirements of the course includes:


  • IMI Higher Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months work/internship experience
  • Proficiency in English: 5.5 IELTS, or equivalent

Undergraduate Programmes in International Culinary Arts



The ICI Diploma in International Culinary Arts offers students, who wish to begin working at a supervisory level within the culinary industry, a comprehensive culinary management education. There is a strong emphasis on combining management training with practical teaching. Requirements

  • Possess an appropriate school leaving qualification, as defined by the UK UCAS and British Council guidelines, or have successfully completed the IMI level 3 Certificate award.
  • Hold a professional qualification or an award which is deemed to be of equivalent academic standing to the IMI level 3 certificate - i.e. normally a level 3 award in a culinary or related subject (e.g. hotel management) that contains a culinary element.
  • Be able to demonstrate a proficiency in English to IELTS 5 or equivalent. (On entry, all students are tested on their level of English competence.)
  • Higher Diploma in International Culinary Arts
