Undergraduate Programs


Graduates of the 
Iowa State University Hospitality Management  are employed in the world’s largest high-class resorts to quaint clubs and dining hotspots, are making their mark from coast to coast and everywhere in between.The Hospitality Management major at Iowa State is known world-wide for its excellence in research. It was recently ranked 15th among the world’s top 100 hospitality and tourism programs, according to the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research.

  • Comprehend technology applications appropriate for hospitality organizations; measured in HSPM 352.
  • Integrate operational knowledge for managing hospitality organizations; measured in HSPM 380L & 455.
  • Demonstrate professional leadership behavior; measured in HSPM 233 & 380L.
  • Use professional written and oral communication; measured in AESHM 113 & HSPM 455.
  • Evaluate best practices in hospitality organizations to meet customer expectations; measured in AESHM 170 & HSPM 233.
  • Obtain professional certifications; measured in HSPM 101, 233, and 333.
