Cliveden House Hotel,Berkshire England


Cliveden is a privately owned 5 Star hotel which has been awarded as best hotel many times and is associated with Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa in Hampshire.
The hotel's first building was built back in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham. A notorious rake, schemer and wit, he created Cliveden as a hunting lodge where he could entertain his friends and mistress.Ever Since its establishment it has been destroyed twice by fire.And it got its new ambiance which emerges to be more stunning than ever.
Cliveden is the house for notable guests from Charlie Chaplin to Winston Churchill, and President Roosevelt to George Bernard Shaw.The hospitality of the hotel has not failed to impress till date and have been attracting guests all over the world.
Cliveden House is owned by the National Trust.It occupies 376 acres of magnificent land.It stands upon chalk cliffs that give the estate its name, the house commands panoramic views over beautiful countryside and an idyllic bend in the river Thames.The gardens features the celebrated parterre, season long floral displays, distinctive topiary and an outstanding sculpture collection.Discover the works of art, including the Fountain of Love and the Roman sarcophagi,have fun getting lost in the amazing Maze, which opened in 2011,delve into the woodlands to explore a wilder Cliveden and enjoy a wealth of walks throughout the estate including a Fitness Trail.Enjoy the giant games in the water garden.
The triangular shaped beds have been beautifully restored with seasonal bedding displays using Fleming's original design and complete the breathtaking views from the house.
The sculpture collection, amassed largely by the Sutherland and Astor families, is evident throughout the garden and includes Thomas Waldo Story's impressive Fountain of Love at the end of the Grand Avenue. Other features not to miss are the octagonal temple, perched on the cliff edge and built by Giacomo Leoni in 1735, the pavilion built to commemorate the battle of Blenheim, and an amphitheatre where the first recital of "Rule Britannia" was played.

Club Room




Club Rooms are Individually styled double rooms which reflect the wonderful history of the House. Club bedrooms are ideal for shorter stays and are located in the East and West Wings of the House.The antique furniture is the glory of the club rooms.Period features and bathrooms,the terrace with views of the walled garden and iconic outdoor swimming pool bring charm of the rooms.




Deluxe Double Room


Deluxe Double room are spacious double rooms with king size or twin beds which are all with their own fireplace, adding character and style to the room.Each room have a comfortable seating area and en-suite period bathroom.Fireplaces are also the inseparable feature of the hotel.Picturesque views of the iconic outdoor pool or down the grand avenue to the fountain of love can be viewed.Deluxe Rooms have two fashioned rooms one is Traditional and the other is Modern Rooms.

Junior Suite


The Junior Suites have a king size handmade Cliveden bed with lounge area and en-suite bathroom.Many Junior Suites have fireplaces adding style and character to the rooms
The specific features of the junior suite includes Period features adorn,Separate or open plan spacious lounge area,Picturesque views of the lawns, countryside or courtyard.
And all newly refurbished in a traditional, classic style making the most of the historical fabric of the building.All rooms have a bath and shower (some have separate showers, some are over the bath).


The Inchiquin Suite 2 Bedroom Deluxe Suite


Inchiquin Suites are luxurious and generously proportioned and has high ceilings with antiques and original works of art decoration.It is located on the first/top floor of the East Wing, overlooking the Grand Drive, Fountain of Love and the gardens. There is a double bedded room and a second double bed located within the large living room, which has a side view of the gardens. The room is a powder pink theme inspired by the painting, coral and aubergine, Belle époque.Fireplace adds style and character to the room.

Parterre Deluxe Suite,the Prince of Wales Suite


The Prince of Wales Suite is one of the two Parterre Suites which offers grand and unique accommodation.It is luxurious and generously proportioned.Enjoy the view of high ceilings decorated with antiques and original works of art and a very spacious lounge area.There is a breathtaking view of the Parterre from the bedroom as well as from the large separate living room. There is also a large hall and a dressing area. The bathroom is very big with dramatic dark red frescoed decorations.




Parterre Deluxe Suite:Lady Astor Suite




The Lady Astor Suite is one of the Parterre Suites which is luxurious and generously proportioned with great views and a large private terrace.Lady Astor located at the first floor of the hotel was the most famous hostess in Cliveden colourful history.The mighty over mantel, with its myriad of mythical creatures, heraldic devices and exuberant ornamentation provides a stunning focus of attention that dates from the reign of Elizabeth I. The windows flood the room with light and provide sweeping views over the Parterre and River Thames beyond, while the furnishings are particularly lavish.
